For this project, we were supposed to create a portrait of someone who was not popular. For my first attempt, I did an illustration of Alberto Mussolini, incorporating both the Italian flag and the American flag, as well as the pledge of allegiance in the background.
I used the tonal unity color scheme, as is illustrated below.
For my second attempt, I did a geometric portrait of Joseph Stalin, using the three basic complimentary color pairs.
I pushed it further by adding in small areas of variation in color
I applied some of these ideas to an album cover for a friend.
